Double Z Creative is Ciarán Morrison and Mick O’Hara. With over thirty years in television we have written, produced and performed comedy-based programming for all the major broadcasters and have a car boot full of awards to prove it.

We have a range of expertise from creating and performing original characters such as Zig and Zag to writing in all fields; television series, feature films, children’s animation, documentaries, live entertainment shows, books, commercials, theatre shows and of course No.1 chart hits…our track record is second to none!

We help bring your ideas to life! We’re versatile and are happy to dive in to projects at any stage of development. We’ve a keen understanding and working experience of the production process from beginning to end.

For example we worked with Cartoon Saloon to develop their project Dorg Van Dango – taking their initial ideas, refining them, giving each character ‘a voice’ , creating the series bible and writing a sample script.

We also ghost wrote the No.1 Irish best seller ‘Mr.Tayto - The Man Inside the Jacket’ and co-wrote songs with Dustin the Turkey on his Irish No.1 albums.

Writers of seven episodes of the (11mins x 52) action adventure animated series for the International market. Based on a famous Disney heritage brand 101 Dalmatians, the series is set in a big old-fashioned house at number 101 Dalmatian Street where a huge family of 101 dogs live all by themselves, without a human owner, setting up the biggest, messiest and furriest family comedy you could ever imagine.

Our 101 Dalmatian Street episode 'Walkies on the Wild Side' which was nominated to represent the series in the 'TV and Commissioned Films' category at Annecy 2019.

Writers on Season 1 and Season 2 (11min x 104) of this action-packed animated series for the International market. This series is the latest addition to the hugely successful Transformers universe. We've written 18 episodes including the Season 1 double episode finale and a Season 2 double episode special.

Writers on the series based on the hugely successful childrens book series Claude by Alex T Smith. The (11min x 52) episodes will be broadcast on Disney Jr EMEA in 2017 to 2018. We've written twelve episodes and two (x 2min) shorts.

Space Chickens in Space

Gingerbread Animation

Writers on this (11min x 52) crazy absurdist sci-fi comedy series. Designed and directed by Tommy and Markus Vad Flaaten. We wrote 6 episodes, including the double season finale. It's all about three chickens who are mistakenly enrolled in an elite intergalactic military academy. It's hilarious!

In 2019 we were nominated for a writing award in the Irish Animation Awards: Best Writer for Animated Series - Space Chickens in Space (Disney XD) The series Space Chickens in Space (Disney XD) WON the Kids Choice Award.

We wrote one script (11mins) for the new Danger Mouse series. We were asked to write more and obviously would have loved to, but we had to concentrate on the Zig and Zag animated series, which got the green light whilst writing on DM. Danger Mouse is currently broadcast on CBBC in the U.K, Netflix (U.S.A) and pretty much everywhere else!

Writers on the hugely popular Oddbods - Season 2 (60 x 7min). The non-dialogue based show is produced by Singapore based animation company One Animation and is broadcast all over the world on a number of channels including ITV, the Disney channel in Asia, Boomerang and CANAL +.
